As a mother of three lovely children and a wonderful husband I am married to going on 7 years relaxation is something that is not in the routine of this mother. My children are 6, 5 , and 2. The two oldest are girls and I finally got my boy who is just a joy and busy. Trying to relax in my is sneaky downstairs early in the morning while everyone is asleep and fix breakfast for myself and read a magazine or just mentally mapping out how my day needs to run. One thing I use to do to relax is crochet. I do not know what it is about it but it brings a calm over me and I am in the zone of completing that project.
While I have started my class Creating Wellness: Psychological and Spiritual Aspects of Healing I have began to be more aware of how my body is responding to the little things in life.
As a Personal Trainer I will tend to incorporate the information I am receiving and learning about to my clients workouts and recommend them attending some type of form of relaxation. I see more of clients giving up due to mental issues and stress related issues that cause them not to focus. Now that we are talking about relaxation I think this is something that will or may be difficult to incorporate becasue people like myself who believe we have to keep moving feel like we would be wasting time in reality we need this time depending on the activity.
As I continue to go on this journey of Health and Wellnes I plan on attending yoga or even a boxing class. Yes, boxing can be considered relaxation as long as I have peace of mind and relieving stress. However, the ultimate relaxation that I would love to do on a regular basis is getting a massage on a regular basis at least 2-3 times a week but my pockets would be hurting. Remember I have 3 kids!! Until then I will see how it goes!!
